General

The JASTA special isolating and shut-off
damper with double-eccentric-bearing valve
disk can be used both as a shut-off or
isolating element (Leakage Rate 2 as per
DIN 3230) and also as a throttling and/or
control element in Pressure Level
PN 6/10/16/25 piping systems for liquid and
gaseous fluids. It guarantees perfect sealing
even under difficult operating conditions;
Type AB 28 can be used up to 280 °C,
Type AB 54 up to 540 °C operating
temperature. The stainless steel valve disk
features an uninterrupted endless sealing
surface outside the spindle gland which
comes into contact with the sealing element
in the damper body only in the final phase of
the closing movement during closure of the
JASTA special isolating and shut-off damper.
The JASTA special isolating and shut-off
damper possesses all the advantageous
design features of an isolating and shut-off
damper with double-eccentric-bearing valve
disk which have proven their worth under
practical operating conditions in a large and
diverse range of applications.

Enhancement of sealing efficiency can be

achieved merely by further movement of the
valve disk into the sealing element.
The sealing element is not subject to erosive

wear, since the angle of flow approach of the
constrictions necessary for design reasons
has been selected in such a way that
extraneous matter carried in the fluid is routed
past the sealing surface when the fluid is in
flow (dead angle)
When the JASTA special isolating and
shut-off damper is opened, the valve disk
detaches from the deformable sealing
element after only a short pivoting movement,
restricting undesirable abrasion and
destructive flexing of the sealing element
to a permissible minimum.
Renewal (changing) of the sealing element
can even be performed by less skilled staff.
Complete dismantling is not necessary.
The sealing surfaces on the valve disk and
the sealing element are not interrupted at or
around the spindle gland
Further movement of the valve disk into the

sealing element can be made possible by
means of slight adjustment of the "CLOSED"
position stop screw if, contrary to
expectation, impermissible leakage should
become apparent in the closure after a
prolonged period of operation. The
kinematics of this design principle guarantees
improvement of sealing even using this
method alone.
